1. The service
IndieRouter provides an OpenAI-compatible inference API over open-weight models, served exclusively from Indian data centres, plus consoles for keys, usage and billing. Routes (flash, pro, code, reason, embed, voice and OCR lanes) are policy-controlled: we choose and may change the model behind a route, publish its model card, and give notice before version changes as described in the docs.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate organisation and billing details, keep credentials confidential, and enable 2FA for admin roles. API keys are shown once, stored hashed, and are your responsibility; revoke compromised keys immediately. You are responsible for use under your keys.
3. Credits, billing and taxes
- Plans are prepaid credits plus a published rate card. Usage is metered on token counts (per-minute for voice, per-page for OCR) as returned in the API
usageobject. - Past included credits, usage continues at the rate card unless you set a spend cap (hard-stop at HTTP 402).
- Paid wallet credits do not expire. Plan allowances last for the plan period they were bought for, promotional credits expire as stated when granted, and enterprise expiry is contractual. Credits are not legal tender, not transferable between organisations, and refundable only as set out in the Refunds & Cancellations policy.
- Prices exclude GST (currently 18%); a GST invoice with our GSTIN accompanies every charge. Recurring debits on lower plans run on UPI AutoPay within RBI mandate limits; failed debits get a grace window before suspension.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to: violate law (including CERT-In directions and IT Act provisions), generate CSAM or non-consensual intimate imagery, conduct or facilitate malware/phishing at scale, attempt to extract other tenants' data, resell raw capacity without a reseller agreement, or probe/bypass rate limits and safety filters. We may throttle or suspend for abuse, with notice where practicable.
5. Your data
You retain all rights in prompts, files and outputs. We claim no ownership and do not train on your content. Data handling, residency and zero-retention commitments are described in the Privacy Policy and, for enterprise tenants, a signed DPA which prevails over this section on conflict.
6. Service levels
Published SLOs (p95 latency, uptime) are targets on shared plans; contractual SLAs with service credits apply on Enterprise and Sovereign plans. Scheduled maintenance is announced on the status page. The reason route and 128K+ context run on reserved/queued lanes as documented.
7. Intellectual property
The platform, consoles, brand and documentation are ours or our licensors'. Open-weight models are used under their respective licences; the model card for every model names the licence. Output ownership follows §5; you are responsible for your use of outputs, including licence compatibility of generated code.
8. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" to the maximum extent permitted by law. Model outputs are probabilistic; you must review outputs before relying on them in regulated or safety-critical settings. Aggregate liability is capped at the amounts paid in the 12 months preceding the claim; neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close the account at any time; unused paid credits are handled per the refund policy. We may suspend for non-payment, abuse, or legal requirement, with notice and a cure period except where risk or law demands immediate action. On termination we delete account data per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India; courts of competent jurisdiction in India have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice by email and console banner; continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Prior versions are available on request.
